Back for a 2nd year – join us for a 10 mile walk for mental health!
Sign up to The Big Track for Base 51 on the 15th May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month! The perfect mental health boost whether you come by yourself, with you family/friends or with your colleagues!
The Big Track 10 miles and will take around 3 hours. Starting at 10am at the Nottingham Train Station Taxi Rank on Queen’s Road, we’ll walk along the Trent to Beeston Marina and then back to the city centre via the Canal.
We are encouraging people to wear bright colours to bring the rainbow to Nottingham! Dogs are welcome as long as they are well-behaved and on a lead.
Young people in the UK have higher mental health needs than ever. 1 in 6 young people in England (aged 5 to 16) experienced a mental health problem in 2020, up from 1 in 9 in 2017. Not supporting young people who are struggling has huge detrimental effects on their whole lives.
At Base 51 we offer a range of counselling for young people aged 11-25 in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We’ve been going for over 30 years and provide services including person-centred counselling. We also have a Youth Club and OutBurst LGBTQIA+ groups to provide great support for mental health by giving young people a place to make new friends and chat to trusted adults about how they are feeling.
To take part, we’re asking for a donation to our GoFundMe* (click to open) to help support Base 51’s mental health services for 11-25 year olds in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
*minimum £10 per person, suggested £25.
